Rajinikanth's biography to hit stands on 12.12.12 |
A biography of Rajinikanth will hit book stands in the superstar's true style on 12.12.12.
Publishers Penguin Books India said that "Rajinikanth" by critic-producer Naman Ramachandaran will be the first and only definitive biography of one of India's biggest stars and the launch will commemorate his 62nd birthday on the unique date December 12, 2012.
"The book will comprehensively analyse his meteoric career in the movie industry from his debut performance to his forthcoming blockbuster "Rana", releasing this year.
"With never before presented insights on his personal and political life, this book, for the first time analyses the unmatched charm and magic of Rajinikanth that bridges the unique boy-next-door, down to earth persona, with that of his larger than life superstar image," the publishers said in a statement. The book will also contain rare pictures and anecdotes.

No money for 'Kolaveri di' Dhanush |
'Kolaveri di' might have become a landmark on the 2011 music calendar, but unfortunately, the man behind the popular number - Dhanush - is unable to reap any monetary benefit out of the situation.
Apparently, Dhanush sold the rights for 'Kolaveri' to Sony Music for a pittance, not knowing how far the song was fated to go. And now when there are various versions of the number making their way around the world (in Pakistan, as well), Dhanush's family and friends are dismayed at his meagre income from the deal.
In fact, there is nothing the South star can do to curb the myriad versions of 'Kolaveri' that are floating around. Also, he has no control over the various versions of the song that the actor has served up for future release. Shockingly the Hindi version of 'Kolaveri' is out of Dhanush's hands.
The star-singer told a tabloid, "I can't release any version of 'Kolaveri' without Sony's approval. And I'll have to share every version of the song with them. So essentially I'll get paid only for my singing. Like the Tamil version, the Hindi version of 'Kolaveri' is with Sony Music. There's nothing I can do about it."
About not retaining the rights for the song, Dhanush said, "Who knew the song would go so far? But it's okay. I don't regret it. I am content with what I've got from this song. And what I've got is priceless."

Asin willing to do Rajinikanth’s Kochadaiyaan |
Asin is hoping to make a comeback in South cinema with a big film. Despite being busy with two Bollywood films, Asin is not content with the way her career has been shaping up in Bollywood. Having two biggest hits Ghajini and Ready to her credit didn’t make her hot property in B circuit.
Therefore Asin is looking to break into South cinema with a big movie. She has eyes on Rajinikanth’s animation flick Kochadaiyaan, which is being made on a large scale. Asin has no qualms to take up this project even though it is not a live action film.
Soundarya, the director and producer of this project is in talks with Asin and official confirmation regarding Asin’s inclusion should be out in few days. As of now the actress is willing to be a part of this prestigious film.
