Prominent lady comedian of the yesteryears Mamata passed away in the wee hours of Tuesday, after suffering from acute respiratory problems at a private hospital in Chennai. She entered the Telugu film industry with her film Bhoomi Kosam. She came into limelight with Gajadonga and Chuttalunnaru Jagratta. Another film Kaaru Diddina Kapuram brought her instant recognition. She acted in more than 250 films cutting across all over the South Indian films. Though the Telugu film industry got migrated to Hyderabad from erstwhile Madras (Chennai), she didn't move from there. She sustained on dubbing work for some Telugu films and TV serials. Dubbing Artistes Association in Tamilnadu expressed deep condolences at the sudden demise of Mamata. She is 55.
