In an industry which is dominated by actresses from North India, it's refreshing to see a Telugu girl making her entry into the industry. KRISHNA SMITHA, a debutant, is proud to be a Telugu and even prouder to be entering the Telugu film industry. Featuring in a love story titled Muhurtham, which was first released amid fanfare in the US, the promising star is all excited. "When there is a dearth of Telugu girls in Tollywood, my debut gives me confidence. The Telugu community in the US liked my performance and the movie got immense response there. I look forward to the support and patronage of the Telugu audience here," she says. The film is set against the backdrop of the freedom struggle and how two lovers sacrifice everything for freedom. The film is produced and directed by Ravi Tenali. The girl is on cloud nine about her foray into the Telugu film industry.

The first schedule of a film directed by Nageswara Rao, presented by P Tulasi Gopal, produced by CG Krishna on the banner of Jayakrishna Creations with Naveen Vadde, Lakshana and Sadhika in the lead was complete. Producer says, 'We shot the first schedule in and around Hyderabad for about 20 days involving all the lead artistes. The second schedule would begin from February 29 and it would continue till the completion of the movie at Eluru.

There are six songs in the movie and of them three were planned in Bangkok. The film has several elements including love, sentiment and comedy. The director is bringing out the film well on the screen better than he narrated to us.' Director says, 'It is basically a triangular love story. We gave lots of preference for comedy. Whom the hero will marry is suspense.

We are sure that the film would attract all classes of audiences.' Brahmanandam, Kota Srinivasa Rao, MS Narayana, Krishna Bhagawan, Kadambari Kiran, Tanikella Bharani , Dharmavarapu Subrahmanyam, Prasadbabu, Junior Relangi, Hemasunder, Sana, Hema, Apoorva , Padma Jayanti and others are in the cast. P. Susheela Sings After 13 years

After a 13-year-haitus, veteran playback singer P. Susheela has recorded a song for the movie 'Silanerangalil,' set to tune by Srikant Deva. The lyrics have been written by Vairamuthu.

Susheela began her career in 1952 and has won several accolades in the first phase of her career spread across four decades. Indian government has recently honored her with prestigious award Padma Bhushan.

‘Silanerangalil’ is directed by Malayalam director Jayaraj, who has made many memorable films like ‘4 The People’. While Vincent Asokan, son of veteran actor Asokan, plays the lead, Navya Nair plays the female lead. Others in the cast include Vineeth, Raghuvaran, Sreeman, Ramesh Khanna and Manobala.

She has been waiting for 'right project' to come and that is why she refused to sign any new films. Police: Dasari Prabhu is mentally unstable

Prabhu and Susheela, who had a love marriage, have been estranged for quite some time now.

New Delhi: Union Coal Minister and Telugu film producer, Dasari Narayana Rao's son has surfaced in Chennai.

The Coal Minister's son, Harihara Prabhu, was reportedly kidnapped last night. However, he now says that he left Hyderabad to escape harassment at the hands of his wife, Susheela.

Prabhu says he had gone to Chitoor following a call from his wife that her brother was in hospital. He claims that Susheela laced his drinks with sedatives, made him sign certain documents and is trying to grab his properties.

He added that he had escaped from the hotel when no one was around and had run to Chennai. He also made it clear that his parents had no role to play in the problems that he and his wife were facing.

Reports quoting Andhra Pradesh Police say Prabhu is mentally unstable. However, what is to be noted is that he went missing on Tuesday, hours after Susheela called a press conference blaming her in-laws of dowry harassment.

His wife had complained to the police that a group of five armed men barged into the hotel room in Seshapuram area where Prabhu was put up and whisked him away at gunpoint.

Prabhu and Susheela, who had a love marriage, have been estranged for quite some time now and a divorce case is already on.

On the other hand, Prabhu's wife Susheela condemned her husband’s allegations that she is harassing him. She demanded police to reveal the names of her husband’s kidnappers names. She said, “The kidnappers are forcing my husband to tell the lies. The truth comes out if we know the kidnappers names. I am not interested in his money. I was just asked my husband to live together.”

ASIN and AJITH are teaming up to play the lead in Avatharudu. A remake of the Tamil super hit Aalwar, the film is being directed by SS SELVA. As the leading duo are household names in Tollywood, producer PV SETTY is confident that Avatharudu will be smashing hit in Telugu as well. "We have seen in the past that good films appeal to the audience irrespective of what language they are dubbed from. I think the same will hold good for Aalwar as well and considering Ajith and Asin are so popular in Andhra we are sure the film be a big success," says PV Setty.

The 53rd Filmfare Awards held at the Yash Raj Studio in Mumbai saw Tabu bagging her 6th Filmfare award. She bagged the black lady for her role in Cheeni Kum wherein she paired with Amitabh Bachchan. She won the ward in Critics' Award segment.

Tabu's latest film in Telugu Idhee Sangati was released on Friday. Dressed in embroidered saree, she came on the stage to select the award. While her five Filmfare awards for her Hindi films, she bagged her first Best Actress award in Telugu for Ninne Pelladutha.
