Telugu Warriors, who had lost out the first match to Kerala Strikers, have beaten Mumbai Heroes in their second match in the Celebrity Cricket League (CCL) 4 held at the Dubai Sports City Stadium in Dubai on February 1, 2014. It was a 20-over match and R Subramanyam and SK Tarapore were the umpires. The Tollywood stars' team won the toss and decided to field first.
S Kochhar and Aftav Shivadasani were the opening batsmen from Mumbai Heroes' team. While Kochhar scored 7 runs, Aftab was duck out. Raja Bherwani, Sunil Shetty, Sonu Sood, Bobby Deol could not score double digits. V Badola and Indraneil scored 12 and 16 runs respectively. It was Apoorva Lakhia, who came as a saving grace for the team. The director scored 69 runs from 30 balls and remained not out with Indraneil. The team scored 127 runs for the loss of 8 wickets in 20 overs.
Telugu Warriors showed fantastic performance in both bowling and fielding. Especially, Raghu (16 runs) and Nandakishore (19 runs) bowled 4 overs each and took 3 wickets each. Sachin Joshi bowled two overs and took wickets for just 3 runs. Adarsh Balakrishan also did good bowling for three overs, but in his last over, Mumbai Heroes scored 25 runs, which was a big setback for Tollywood team. Telugu Warriors showed extra-ordinary performance in batting too. The team managed to score 130 runs for the loss of 4 wickets in 18 overs. Except Raghu, everyone batted well. Prince, Sudhir Babu, Sachin Joshi, Adarsh and Akhil scored 23 runs (25 balls), 13 runs (16 balls), 22 runs (16 balls), 33 runs (28 balls) and 28 runs (22 balls) respectively.
