KFPA irked by Magadheera in Karnataka

Kannada Film Producers Association (KFPA) has been irked by the release of Ram Charan Teja-Kajal Agarwal starrer Telugu movie Magadheera in Karnataka after it was released in access number of theatres. Producer Sa Ra Govind condemned the release act as illegal.

Recently, KFPA has held an emergency meeting at the Sadashivnagar club. The producers said, "There are no rules and regulation regarding the release of other language films in Karnataka. So other language films are being screened in more than necessary number of theatres."

They condemned Karnataka Film Chamber of Commerce that although KFCC is very well aware of the situation Kannada, it is not taking any action against it. The KFPA concluded that in order to save Kannada language and producers out of this situation, there should be some legal action against the release of other language films.

However, Chiranjeevi's son Ram Charan Teja starrer Magadheera was released last week. The movie is doing great at the Box Office. Producer Sa Ra Govind alleged, "Telugu movie Magadheera has been grant to be screened in unnecessary number of theatres in Karnataka and this is illegal."

The profit of movie Magadheera, which is earned by screening in access number of theatres, should be given to KFCC. Being a member of KFCC, the distributor has violated the rules. This should be corrected immediately," KCN Chandrashekhar, the president of KFPA urged the KFCC.
