Pawan refuses to pay Nandini in black

Though it was more or less a smooth ending for the divorce episode of powerstar Pawan Kalyan and his first wife Nandini at Visakhapatnam on Tuesday, there was a last minute hiccup in the case.

Sources said after the family court dismissed the petition of Nandini, following the compromise and granted the divorce, Nandini wanted that Pawan Kalyan paid the entire amount of Rs 5 crore compensation in cash, as she does not want to lose a single rupee in the form of income tax. However, Pawan Kalyan gave her a cheque for Rs 5 crore, which means the entire amount will be in white. Pawan's lawyer told Nandini that he had to show the payment as white in his IT records, hence it cannot be paid in black.

Nandini could not argue much, as the divorce has already been granted and she cannot file another petition asking the money in black. Since the amount has been agreed upon in the court of law, it will be treated as white money. Sources say Nandini would have to pay 30 per cent of the amount as Income Tax. Which means, she would end up with getting only Rs 3.5 crore as compensation from her ex-husband!
