It was chaos and nothing else at the Nehru stadium Chennai, as superstar Kamal Hassan in the presence of actors like Amitabh Bachchan, Hema Malini, Jackie Chan, Himesh Reshammiya launched the music of his film ‘Dashavataram’.
Kamal’s fans went berserk on knowing that he was present at the stadium and created havoc so much so that the police had to take matters in their hands! They lathi-charged on whoever tried to get into the stadium... press, fans!
Our senior correspondent Reshma Kelkar attended the launch in Chennai and was in for a complete shock! “People worship their stars like gods in the south unlike Mumbai! Kamal’s fans tore their shirts, carried his photos, and brought their young kids just to get a glimpse of their icon! It was simply maddening! Posters of Kamal Hassan were on display on almost every street of Chennai, the promotion for the event was mind boggling! Even we the press had to face a tough time” said Reshma from Chennai.
