After the debacle of his much touted 'Aag', the remake of Sholay – Ram Gopal Varma has been maintaining a very low profile. His other films in Hindi have also not done well at the box office. His much publicized RGV Factory has also not made much of a mark lately.
Ram Gopal Varma is now making a comeback of sorts in Tollywood after a long gap with a straight Telugu film. The subject of his story is the life and times of the late Partala Ravi. The film has been tentatively titled as 'Charithra'.
Paritala Ravi was murdered in broad day light and his wife Sunitha even made a sensational statement in the assembly holding chief minister YS Rajashekar Reddy, his son Jagan and minister Divakar Reddy as being directly responsible for the murder of her husband. So, the film ready to stir entire state if materializes. Varma had a long term desire to show the Vijayawada politics with Ranga-Radha story. But that is very old now. Paritala Ravi issue rightly becomes a commercial formula now, say sources.
