Fact Sheet: ‘Jalsa’ attracts small politicians


Rajahmundry: Pavan Kalyan starrer ‘Jalsa’ film not only gave good openings to the film but also to small political leaders who want to join the political party of matinee idol Chiranjeevi who is thinking of launching the party.

Minister Jakkampudi Rammohana Rao’s son Jakkampudi Raja, who is heading Chiranjeevi Fans Association in Rajahmundry, celebrated the release of ‘Jalsa’ on Wednesday.

Yerra Venugopala Rayudu, who resigned as TDP district general secretary recently and his followers, booked one show in a theatre. In Kakinada, Razole, Mandapeta, Ramachandrapuram and other areas with a strong Kapu community, leaders from different political parties competed with each other in booking tickets for 3-4 consecutive days.

In Amalapuram, a cross section of people not connected to films or film industry persuaded theatre owners for bulk bookings.
