Tollywood's item girl Mumaith Khan, who rapidly progressed from an item girl to vamp and then into heroine, did something strangely surprising and not in tune with the usual practices of Tollywood. There was some buzz about Mumaith raising her remuneration after her recent successes. She is believed to have been signed for Rs. 20 Lakhs to play the female lead in Maisamma IPS. Even now, she charges Rs. 3 lakhs for each item number. In Operation Duryodhana, two songs and some scenes were picturised on her and she was paid Rs. 6 lakhs. Mumaith Khan reportedly gave Rs. 1 lakh back to Posani Krishna Murali. Her gesture was in response to the affectionate treatment she and her mother received on the sets.
