Nagarjuna's N Convention Centre Encroached Lake Land

Nag's N-Convention Centre at Tammidi Kunta lake
After conducting a detailed land survey of Tammidi Kunta in Madhapur, both the revenue department and Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) have come to the conclusion that about three acres of the lake land have been encroached upon by N Convention Centre owned by actor Akkineni Nagarjuna.
The survey was taken up by the revenue and GHMC (irrigation wing) on Saturday. Survey of the 29 acre Tammid Kunta, including the buffer zone, began at 9 am and completed by 1 pm by when the boundaries of the lake were marked.

“Our survey revealed that N Convention Centre extends to about 1.12 acre inside the Full Tank Level (FTL) of the lake while another two acres of the building falls in the buffer zone of the lake. “As per rules, no building is permitted to come up either in the FTL area or the buffer zone,” K Vidyasagar, tehsildar of Serilingampally mandal.

Irrigation authorities, who were part of the lake land survey, said the construction was not uniform. At some places, the projection was 50 metres from the FTL and at some places it was 24 metres. Officials said no other construction was found in the lake bed area. The survey map would be superimposed on the original map of the lake available with the additional director (survey and land records) of Ranga Reddy district to have more clarity on the land.
