Actress Nithya Menon was caught travelling inside the cockpit of Air India's Bangalore-Hyderabad flight. Pilots Jagmohan Singh Reddy and S Kiran were suspended with immediate effect after the news came into light. Now the authorities have started the investigation regarding this case. The investigators of the Air Force, trainee pilots and traffic observers are allowed to sit inside the cockpit. The entry of others were strictly prohibited after the terrorist attack in September 2011.
It was reported that Nithya Menon was allowed to sit inside the cockpit area of the flight. The news came out after a complaint was filed by one of the senior government scientist, who happened to be in the flight. Earlier, Nithya Menon was in news as she was banned from films by the producers' association. It was due to the interference of AMMA - Actors' organisation, the actress returned back to films. Her last release in Malayalam was Usthad Hotel opposite Dulquar Salman.

South Indian film industry actress and playback singer Nithya Menon has faced a problem recently as she sat in the cockpit of the Air India flight. Her stunt has caused de-roster of two pilots. The flight took off from Bangalore and landed at Hyderabad. Nithya went to cockpit mid flight. The actress wanted to sit in the cockpit of the flight and the pilots of that particular flight allowed her to do so. It seems the pilots extended their hospitality a bit far to this south Indian beauty. After the news came into notice, pilots Jagmohan Singh Reddy and S Kiran were suspended with immediate effect. The authorities have started investigating the case. The pilots have been suspended for compromising the safety of passengers' onboard flight.
The case came into light after a senior government scientist reported to the authorities. That scientist had also boarded the same flight. According to the rules, other than pilots, investigators of the Air Force, trainee pilots and traffic observers are only allowed to sit in the cockpit of aircraft. The entries of others have been strictly prohibited especially after the terrorist attack of September 2011.

She has also begun filming for 2 movies for 2014.
As a playback singer, she has sung in Malayalam, Telugu and Kannada movies. Nithya Menon was born in Bangalore to Malayali parents. She earlier wanted to study journalism. She studied journalism from Manipal but subsequently got interested in film making. While studying film making, she was chosen for acting.
