Zanjeer has been in news ever since its inception last year.
Though not all reasons may have been too flattering considering the fact that there were legal issues plaguing the film, there was something for the makers to cheer about once it got clearance for release. Soon after, promos of the Hindi as well as Telugu version were on air pronto as well.
However, latest developments makes one wonder if there is yet another postponement in the making, what with one reason each arising due to recent developments in the Hindi as well as Telugu film industry.
Reason being that Yevadu, a much awaited Telugu film starring Ram Charan Teja, is moving ahead by three weeks and would now be coming only on August 21. Now that would be cutting too fine with Zanjeer, the release date of which has been announced as September 6. Other than just the Hindi version, Ram would also have to think about the Telugu version of Zanjeer, Thoofan.
Director Apoorva Lakhia has confirmed the news on his micro-blogging page and tweeted, "Yevadu pushed to 21st Aug, now two charan films within 2 weeks, awesome news for all his fans. Zanjeer/thoofan date fixed for 6th sept 3 months ago." Apoorva Lakhia has also rubbished off the rumors on the film's postponement.
Ram Charan is playing the role of ACP Vijay Khanna in the film while Priyanka Chopra plays his love interest. The film is being produced by Amit Mehra and Reliance Entertainment. Yogi has supervised the works for the Telugu version Toofan.
