The actress has been approached to do an item number in Srk’s Chennai Express

One would think that any actress would jump at a chance to feature in a Shah Rukh Khan-starrer, but surprisingly, there seems to be much speculation about who will do an item number in the star’s upcoming movie, Chennai Express. Coming right on the heels of reports that claim Nayanthara has refused to shake a leg for an item number in the movie, we find out that actress Priyamani has been approached for the same song. Apparently, the filmmakers are keen on having her on board and sources in the film’s unit are positive that Priyamani will say yes.

When contacted, Priyamani agreed that she has indeed been approached for the song, but refused to confirm her inclusion saying, “It is too early to comment about it. We are yet to work out the details of the song before saying yes.”
The filmmakers are keen on casting a South star in an item number as the movie is said to be about SRK’s journey from Mumbai to Rameshwaram and what happens along the way. Directed by Rohit Shetty, the out-and-out entertainer stars Deepika Padukone as the leading lady.

The ball is in the National Award-winning actress’ court now. Will Nayan’s loss turn out to be Priyamani’s gain?
