Vishnu in Karthi’s role
Director Ameer’s Paruthiveeran starring Karthi and Priyamani will soon be remade in Telugu. Vishnu, son of the veteran Tollywood actor Mohan Babu has been roped in to play Karthi’s role.
The selection for the rest of the roles is in progress. Interestingly, Vishnu has also signed up for a Tamil movie.
Paruthiveeran was a movie which received rave reviews and accolades from the industry as well as from the public. It marked the debut of Karthi, son of veteran actor Sivakumar and brother of Surya. Priyamani, who played the the role of Muthazhagu, was lauded for her fine performance. The film has been a breakthrough film for all the artistes, including actors playing supporting roles.
The film was directed by Ameer, who has carved a niche for himself in the industry by taking films that are realistic. Just three films old (Mounam Pesiyathey, Raam and Paruthiveeran), the director has received a lot of critical acclaim for his unique style of filmmaking.
Priyamani recently received the National Award for Best Actress for this movie. The film also bagged six Filmfare awards this year.
