YSR: The 'acting' chief minister

Guess who is arriving on the 70 mm screen shortly? It is Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Rajasekahara Reddy, who will be seen in a Telugu movie.

The doctor-turned-politician will now turn actor. YS Rajasekhara Reddy will wear the greasepaint for a Telugu film in which he plays, YS Rajasekhara Reddy, the chief minister.

NDTV has exclusive access to the synopsis of the movie on which the chief minister has signed his stamp of approval. He will appear in the last eight minutes of the film to solve the problems of a backward village in Andhra Pradesh. Congressman CC Reddy is producing the film. He says the movie is not a PR exercise for the ruling party ahead of elections.

"I am sure he will do it very well. And we too will not burden him by ignoring some minor faults if he does while delivering dialogues," says the producer CC Reddy.

Popular Telugu actor Brahmanandam plays the lead in yet to be titled film. He says having the chief minister as co-star will not make him nervous.

"Before the camera, both of us are artists. Who you are in real life, does not matter," says Brahmanandam.

The movie will be released in June, and YSR will start shooting last week of April. Those making more offers may please contact the CM's office for dates.
