Tamil & Telugu Heroine Shreya in Trouble

A local Hindu organisation here has lodged a police complaint against "Kollywood" actor Shreya, who starred opposite Rajinikanth in the Tamil box-office hit Sivaji-The Boss , objecting to the outfit worn by her during the 175th day celebration of the film.

In a complaint here on Sunday, the Hindu Makkal Katchi (HMK) alleged the outfit worn by Shreya during the function on Friday last had "offended Hindu culture," police said.

The complaint was under investigation, they said. Chief Minister M Karunanidhi had participated in the function and given away mementoes to the actors and technicians of the film.

Apart from her role opposite Rajinikanth, Shreya had paired Vijay in Azhagiya Tamil Magan , besides playing the female lead in the Hindi film, Awaarapan , playing the love interest of Emraan Hashmi.

Shreya is the second actor after Kushboo to face the ire of political parties and organisations in recent times. Khushboo had encountered protests for her reported comments on sex and virginity.

The Hindu Munnani filed a case recently against her for causing disrespect to Hindu goddesses at a function in Chennai where she was photographed seated with her footwear on near some idols of the goddesses.
