Singer turned actress Mamta Mohandas has built up quite a reputation as a singer having delivered hits like the title song of Rakhi, Aakali Esthe from SDZ and most recently Nacho Re from "Yamadonga". She even won the Filmfare award for her rendition of "Rakhi".
Now that her acting career has really taken off, stories of her not accepting any more item numbers are gaining ground in the industry. But the actress dismisses them saying, "I am a trained Carnatic singer and singing is a passion.
I want to try my hand at a variety of songs and not get typecast. I will be more selective with the songs I chose."-Telugu Cinemass.
