Telugu film industry price Mahesh Babu's Pokiri broke all box-office records. Now, the distribution rights of his "Athidhi" are reported to have been sold to UTV Films for a whopping Rs. 23 Crores ! With overseas and other rights, trade pundits expect Athidhi to do business upward of Rs. 25 Crores.

This is a record for Mahesh Babu's films in terms of business done before release. Producer Ramesh Babu must be laughing all the way to the bank. His earlier venture Arjun was a disaster. He is said to have lost around Rs. 5 Crores then. UTV's involvement in the distribution of Athidhi assumes importance, particularly in the reported negotiation of UTV with Mahesh Babu for a 3 film contract. Meanwhile, Murali Sharma of Apaharan and Gangajal fame is confirmed as villain and is now participating in shooting from the 16th of July. Climax scenes are planned to be shot in Chennai from 6th to 18th of August. Looks like that The Prince may celebrate his birthday on 9 th of August on the sets itself.
