DIRECTOR SHANKAR & AVM PRODUCTIONS GET COURT NOTICES

A Chennai city court on Wednesday (June 27, 2007) ordered issuance of notice to AVM Productions and director Shankar on a petition filed by an assistant director alleging that he was the original author of the story of RajiniKanth starrer "Sivaji".

In his petition, the assistant director, Jayaraj Devan claimed that a friend of his, Ramdoss had stolen the story and gave it to Shankar and AVM Productions and they in turn utilised it in Sivaji.

He had earlier prepared the script in Telugu also and discussed it with Usha Kiron Movies in Hyderabad in June 2005 but they could not make use of it as it involved a huge budget, but Ramadoss to whom also he had discussed the story gave the same to Sivaji producer and director, the petitioner contended.

He had sent a message to Shankar's manager about his claim but the latter did not chose to respond to it, the petitioner said and prayed the court to render justice to him.
