Neetu Chandra says ‘Lesbian! Who, me?’ |
Neetu Chandra is beside herself with rage. A recent erotic photo shoot she did for a magazine has drawn the ire of a bunch of individuals who found her look too hot to handle. “Until now, everyone has had their say. It’s my turn now. Till now, you will recall no controversy about me — none that was blown so out of proportion. The shoot has been given many names including ‘Lesbian Shoot’. It was interrupted because it was found too hot for Indian men to digest. And, never done in the history of Indian cinema,” she fumes.
Citing the tradition of eroticism combined with aesthetics, that has been immortalised on the ancient rock-sculptures of Ajanta and Ellora, she adds, “Well, what would you call the sculptures in the caves of Ajanta and Ellora, a place where tourists from all over the world visit? What would you call these works of art where two beautiful females bodies come into contact with each other, posing for an artist to create an exquisite work of art?”
Getting back to the shoot itself, how did the gorgeous actress feel about the sensual touch of a woman? “I didn’t even know her before the shoot. Every picture has a story behind it. There is no kissing or smooching in it. I did not feel awkward at all as I knew what I was doing. Also, I am an actor and I was playing a role. It was as simple as that,” she says.
Speaking of her craft, she adds, “As an actor, Garam Masala gave me a launch pad, Traffic Signal gave me recognition, Oye Lucky, Lucky Oye gave me establishment, 13B gave me critical acclaim. But this controversy has given me my individuality. It has helped me to graduate to another level. I have found supporters who not only appreciate just my acting, but also appreciate my glam side. As an actor this is how I am willing to push the boundaries of my profession.”
About her voluptuous figure, she makes no bones about the fact that she knows what men love. “I want the voluptous trend to come back. Men love a woman’s body that keeps their hands full. I am not doing this to keep things hidden. I want men to enjoy themselves, and I’d love it if the lads enjoy my photos,” she smiles. Now who could argue with that? All we can say is, go girl!

Harika Unlike other Actresses |
Harika takes a bow!
She’s done loads of commercials in Mumbai. And now she’s even changed her screen name from Payal Ghosh to Harika. This leggy lass has already made her presence felt in Tollywood with her debut film. Harika had always been keen to do films and grabbed the role when Chandrasekhar offered her this film. “It was a great learning experience for me. I think I am privileged to have worked with a director like him,” gushes the actress. Picking up Telugu was a problem, but on the sets “co-actor Manoj helped a lot with the pronunciation.” Unlike other actresses who have to be calorie conscious right from the beginning, Harika was asked to put on weight for her very first film. Not that she had trouble shedding off all those extra kilos, thanks to her rigorous fitness sessions off-screen.

Nayanthara and Prabhu Deva's rumours of secret marriage |
Breaking news of a Telugu channel has it that Nayanthara’s married Prabhu Deva secretly in Hyderabad! Kollywood grapevine holds that Prabhu Deva and Nayanthara are the hottest couple in town and does not deny rumours of them being in love ever since they worked together in Vijay’s Villu, sources close to the actress have denied the marriage. “She was not even in Hyderabad when rumours of her marriage broke,” they said. The choreographer, actor-turned-director Prabhu Deva is a married man with three children, and went through a harrowing time a few months back when he lost his eldest son. The buzz was that it was Nayan, who gave him strength to come out of his personal grief, which was compounded by the fact that his marriage with Ramlath was on the rocks. Sources also attribute Nayan’s reluctance to party to her closeness to Prabhu. She withdrew into a shell and cut off all her friends in the industry. Her frequent trips to temples are also attributed to the man in her life, who is an ardent devotee. When asked about Nayanthara, Prabhu Deva said that “it is personal”.
Prabhu Deva also went out of his way to improve her onscreen dance movements, as he personally coached her. Recently, he created a stir when he went to Kumarakom at his expense and without taking any fee choreographed two songs that were picturised on Nayanthara for the Malayalam film Bodyguard! The rumours about their affair, was confirmed when the actress tattooed ‘Prabhu’ (P in English and the rest in Tamil), a little above her wrist at a newly-opened tattoo lounge in Hyderabad. Earlier, Nayanthara had also pierced her nose, while shooting for her Malayalam film Bodyguard in Kerala. It is said she did this because Prabhu loves it! Sources close to the actress say that “they may be in love, but marriage is not on the cards in the near future as they are professionals who are concerned about their careers.” Nayanthara is doing one Tamil film and two Telugu films, one with NTR and the other with Ravi Teja, and Bodyguard in Malayalam. Prabhu Deva is making a comeback to acting and is playing the lead in a Tamil film and is directing, the Hindi remake of Pokkiri — Wanted Dead and Alive — with Salman Khan and Ayesha Takia.
